I think that alot of people just couldn't hear or see very well as is the case with alot of venues. It's not as good as Buffalo 88-89-90 or Alpine Valley, etc - but the band was in a real good mood and were playing great for an 1984 gig. I think that the negative reviews of this show are unjustified as I've seen 65 or so shows since 83. People were passing water, beer, booze, and smokes down to the front because of the heat and congestion. It was a hot, sweaty show down on the field up close to the stage. This was probably my 3rd dead show age 23. Probably not worth a download, but worth a listen. Night supplanting the Day Job encore, but oh well. It could have been a real treat with Sat. Goin' Down The Road was unexpected and quite perky it did sound like Jerry was working into something at the end until Bob jumped it with Saturday Night. Around & Around was, well, Around & Around, but was always a bit nicer when Brent switched from piano to B-3 in his solo at the key change. It worked itself into a nice long Truckin' intro the Spoonful jam after made for a nice unhurried outro and kept a very bluesy feel into Black Peter. The second set was hit and miss for a while I don't like the 80s breakneck Eyes tempo, though this one stretched out a tad longer than usual. The first set had average playing and above or below average song selection, depending on one's preferences. However, I just revisited the show and was pleasantly surprised. The venue was nice and expectations were high, but I wasn't impressed at the time and by future listens.
